"Mary Pearl called me through the Dodge Foundation and my connection with Earth Watch expeditions", explained Kathy. She now teaches grades K-8 at the West Long Branch Public School in New Jersey. When asked about favorite animals, she said, "Giraffes, what an unlikely animal... but any animal I work with becomes a favorite."
Kathy enjoys the connections she is able to make and the way her students have been able to involve themselves with The Wild Ones. "It's wonderful to connect trips and projects together with different groups of scientists and teachers." Kathy and all those involved in the site hope to expand The Wild Ones to offer more of these opportunities.
