Pennsylvania Animals: Praying Mantis
(Mantis religiosa and Tenodera aridifolia sinensis)
The praying mantis is an insect. The praying mantis looks like a grasshopper. It kills its food which are other insects and he or she has these claws that he or she kills its food with. It doesn't live very long. It is born in the spring and dies in the fall. When a praying mantis is born, it doesn't look like a grown praying mantis. It is a different color which is light yellow. The praying mantises enemies are birds and sometimes the praying mantis can get away because its pretty fast and its camouflaged and it can climb. by Jack
