Pennsylvania Animals: Red-tailed Hawk

The red tailed hawk is a bird. It lives in North America. It lays 2 to 4 eggs at a time. The red tailed hawk eats mice and rats. The scientific name is Buto jamaicensis. The red tailed hawk is 14 inches long. But the female is bigger than the male. It's brown and has a red tail and a white bottom. -Brandon
