My animal is the porcupine (Erethizon dorsation). My animal is a mammal. It's like a big dog with spines. It's usually in forested places. It eats twigs, buds, and inner bark of trees. It is fond of salt. Its real enemies are cars. By having sharp quills, it doesn't have animal enemies. It protects itself with sharp quills (colors: black and yellow). The female gives birth from Sept. - Oct. Young weigh about 1 pound. Quills are soft and about one quarter inch long. The porcupine does not hibernate. -Tillman
