What is the your environment like? This is a great activity to bring your class together in the beginning of the year. It can include group brainstorming and representatives can be chosen to work on the final text. Once the text is composed other members of the class should have the opportunity to review and revise it before submission to The Wild Ones. Your students' work on this project will become the introduction to your school on The Wild Ones web site.
What are common animals and plants that you share your habitat with? Include students' first hand observations of the plants or animals. Find out if there are any plants or animals classified as endangered species where you live.
Students may also wish to write poetry or use drawings or photographs to describe their habitat.
Photographs or sound recordings could also be included on your school's web page.
Submit your own curriculum plans or resource suggestions to The Wild Ones for publication.
