Wolf Study

by the Third Grade Class of Henry H Houston Elementary School, Philadelphia, PA USA

In our study of wolves, we first talked about wolves in stories and fairy tales. Then we went to the library to find out the truth. We were excited to find out that wolves are not the evil characters they are made out to be. We were also concerned when we found out people are responsible for wolves being endangered.

We plan to do all we can to help our furry friends. This school year we will write to our congressmen and have fund-raisers. We will adopt wolves with the money we raise.

by Jasmine, Iris, Jamie, and Frances

Wolves hunt animals. They sometimes live in grasslands. Their eyes are close together toward the front of their head. They have good forward vision to help them hunt. Please don't kill the wolves.

by Gian, Courtney, and Isaiah

Wolves are the largest members of the canine family. The grey wolf weighs 75 to 100 pounds. They are found all around the world north of the equator.

Wolf Poetry

acrostic poem by Jelisa, Ne'Keea, Gloria, and Erica

Special,
Attractive,
Very valuable,
Endangered.

Terrific,
Hunted,
Eat people, never.

Wanted.
Only eat animals.
Largest dog around.
Very few left,
Extinct if we don't help.
Smell very well.

by Jenay, Mark, and Isaiah

Wolves are black,
Wolves are white.
Wolves have a very good appetite.

Claws and teeth,
and everything neat.
Wolves won't be beat!
