Flirtation Station, Next Stop Colobus Monkey!

The most humorous thing about the Colobus Monkey is that it is very flirty. All the females follow the dominant male around, trying to prove their worthiness. The males will play chasing games with the females. These animals are very competitive. While observing the Colobus Monkey, I noticed that the females practically threw themselves at the male's feet.

This all part of the reproductive cycle. Maybe it's just a game, but these animals chased each other around practically the whole day. On top of that, they did a lot of swinging and showing off. This is quite time consuming. In fact, while the monkeys were indulging in this fun filled game, it seemed as though some of the monkeys were getting tired. They didn't show it though, because they wanted to impress the others.

The Colobus flirt with one another so often, one would think that they really do mate a lot. It does not seem that way since their population is declining.
